Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Description

As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at Tribeca Cabinetry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of products in and out of the company. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving incoming shipments, inspecting them for accuracy and quality, and properly documenting and storing the received items. You will also be responsible for preparing shipments for outbound delivery, ensuring accurate packing, labeling, and documentation. Collaborating closely with the warehouse team, you will help maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and assist in conducting regular inventory counts. Additionally, you will work closely with carriers and couriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, and resolve any shipment-related issues or discrepancies. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of shipping and receiving operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders and invoices.
  • Inspect and document the quality and condition of received items.
  • Properly label, categorize, and store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and labeling.
  • Coordinate with carriers and couriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock levels as shipments are received or sent out.
  • Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and audits.
  • Resolve any shipment-related issues, such as damaged goods or delivery delays.
  • Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to optimize workflow and ensure efficient operations.

Requirements and skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with carriers, couriers, and internal teams.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Physical stamina to handle and move packages of various sizes and weights.
  • Problem-solving skills to address shipment discrepancies or delays.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and ability to maintain a safe working environment.
