Job Description

As a Logistical Shipping Specialist at Tribeca Cabinetry, you will be responsible for managing the shipping and logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers. Your role will involve coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to optimize shipping processes and maintain accurate documentation. You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth order fulfillment, addressing shipping-related issues, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of shipping regulations will contribute to the success of the company’s logistical operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
  • Ensure accurate labeling, packaging, and documentation of shipments to comply with regulations and customer requirements.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing updates and resolving any delays or issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as customer service and production, to fulfill orders and address shipping-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping transactions, including shipment details, tracking numbers, and delivery confirmations.
  • Identify opportunities for optimizing shipping processes, such as consolidating shipments or negotiating favorable freight rates.
  • Work with carriers to arrange transportation, coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, and resolve any transportation-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including international shipping requirements, hazardous materials handling, and customs procedures.
  • Monitor and manage freight costs and shipping expenses to ensure budget adherence.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in shipping and logistics.

Requirements and skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software and systems to generate shipping labels, track shipments, and manage documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple shipments and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and ability to maintain accuracy in shipping documentation and records.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with carriers, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address shipping-related issues and resolve transportation delays.
  • Familiarity with freight rates, incoterms, and logistics terminology.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
